I started the week off helping my sister, Amy, with cutting truck templates as her goody bags for my nephews birthday party. She remembered this truck I made a while back and wanted to use my template to create little monster trucks to go along with the party theme.

With the SCAL program I was able to take a pattern I had drawn out on paper and turn it into a cut file for my Cricut. Thank goodness for technology! So glad we did not have to cut 30 truck templates by hand.
I finished up a couple of sewing projects for my sister Kimberly's baby.
Natalee and I made a set of burp clothes.

Then, I made a little dress for my newest niece to wear home from the hospital.
My sister and her husband really wanted a Tennesee football themed dress, she even emailed a picture of one they liked. With no pattern, I did my best to make it similar to the one she emailed me. It is the most difficult sewing project I've tackled thus far. The electricity going out in the middle of the project didn't help.

My sister told me her and her husband love it. Woo hoo! Can't wait to see little Leann in it!
I found blue bandanas with white stars in the Target dollar spot and knew exactly what I wanted to do with them. Make an Independence Day outfit for Jordan. Here's a peek. I'm working on shorts and accessories to go with it so I'll wait to show the whole outfit on the 4th.

The bandana dresses/shirts are super easy to make. It's so easy they are sometimes referred to as the 15 minute dress. I knew my sister-in-law wanted to learn how to sew but was a little intemidated so I invited her over to make an outfit as well. She was super excited. It was adorable.

She was nervous to step on the pedal and start the machine at first, but once she got started, there was no stopping her.

She did a great job. Her dress is super cute! She went home that day and made two nursing covers. You go girl!!
John and I had the opportunity to go with the Youth on their temple trip.

It was Natalee's first trip! We were going to plan to take her and Aryn ourselves but found out the ward had one planned so close after her birthday that we just went with that. We really enjoyed our experience going together.
Natalee and I spent

Jordan loves to help bake but she doesn't like the loud noise of the mixer. :)

Saturday morning we woke up, got ready, and headed to my nephews 5th birthday party.
The kids had a blast at the gym! (All birthday party pictures were taken by my sister, Amy.)

My sister, Amy, went overboard on the party, but that is no surprise to those of us that know her, right? She made an awesome cake display with yummy truffle cake in the center.
Everyone left the party with one of the paper monster trucks filled with goodies.

Right after my nephew's party, I dropped half of the family at home, loaded the van with the cake and cupcakes, and hurried off to Kimberly's baby shower.

An awful storm blew in just after we arrived. Thank goodness I was able to carry the cakes and cupcakes inside before it started! Can you imagine me carrying in all those cupcakes through a down pour? Not a pretty picture.
Taryn planned some really fun games. The food was yummy. Kimberly received lots of wonderful gifts. It was great.
After the shower, I took a few photos of my sister's baby bump. Isn't she cute? I love the baby belly.

After the quick photo shoot I jumped in the van and hurried home so we could grab some dinner, change into church clothes, and head out again to attend a baptism!
Whew! What a busy, wonderful day!
Before leaving for church Sunday the kids gave John his Father's day gifts.

Ten boxes of Runt's! Just what he asked for.

The ride to church was eventful. No one was aware that Jordan had chocolate milk with her in the van until she spilled it all over Aryn. Her dress was soaked so we had no choice but to turn around and let her go change clothes. Not the best Sunday for this to happen since Natalee was giving her first talk in Sarament meeting that day! My parents visited our ward to be there for Natalee's talk. I was able to call my dad and let him know what was going on and he was able to let the bishopric know Natalee was still going to be there to share her talk. We weren't even that late! I was very happy we made it before sacrament was passed.
When Natalee told us last Sunday that she had a talk I said, "In Sacrament meeting?" She replied, "I'm not in Primary anymore. Where else would I give a talk." Oh, yeah. Silly me.
She did a wonderful job speaking on how we can help our dad's.
My parents came over to our house after church for dinner and dessert. We all ejoyed what we call Daddy's Yummy Breakfast. It's scrambled eggs, southern style hashbrowns, bacon pieces, ham chunks, and sausage all mixed up together and topped with cheese. It is one of our favorite meals! Later we ate the dessert I made. It is sort of like an icecream cake but with brownie instead of cake and mint chocolate chip icecream. We ate well on Father's Day @ the Ricks' home.
I hope my husband enjoyed "his" day. I hope he always knows how wonderful we all think he is. I am blessed with such an amazing husband! Thanks, John, for being such an awesome, loving father to our children.
After all the Father's Day fun we gathered around the computer and read from the Book of Mormon with John's mom. Then we had a wonderful conversation with her before hanging up. So excited we get to "visit" with Grandma Marilynn every week now.
John and I have already noticed improvement in Gavin's reading in just the few weeks we've been doing the "Read the Book of Mormon in 90 days" challenge with our ward. Way to go, Gavin!
We've kept all of our new bedtime and tuck-in time routines going, even though some nights John and I look at each other knowing how much we want to just go toss the little ones in bed right after family prayer. Once we start playing though we always start laughing and enjoying it. It's always worth the effort.
Well, there's a peek into our busy week here @ the Ricks' Home. Another super crazy week started up Monday morning bright and early! I'm just hoping I can find time to get everything done!

Where have I been? I didn't know Kimberly was pregnant. That's great!
Holy Cow! You had a seriously Snickers week: packed with peanuts! I'm glad to know others are crafting and creating, too. :) I continue to be glad for your examples over there!
