Aryn and Natalee don't like to go as often as the younger kids, but that works for me because they are old enough to stay at home and enjoy the peace and quiet of no younger siblings around. I remember finally being able to stay at home alone while my mom and siblings ran errands. I remember how nice it was to be alone for a little while.
Having dinner ready on time after being at the pool all day was not really going well. So this week I mostly planned crockpot dinners. It was really nice knowing dinner was practically ready when we got home.
We've been doing really well keeping up with all of our scripture reading schedules. Sometimes it can get difficult when life gets busy, but we try to put it first and it is working so far. Yay!
While reading one morning, I looked over at Gavin holding the boat he made as he read. I thought he was so cute and had to snap a photo.

One night as I was reading to Jordan about Jacob and Sherem, Jordan didn't seem to be paying attention. So, I asked her, "Who am I reading about?" She repiled, "Jacob annnddd........Edward?" I laughed so hard. Yep, we are Twilight fans.
John's mom read on our blog about us reading the Book of Mormon as a ward and wanted to read along with our family. Then, she emailed John and asked if we would like to read all together over the webcam. Awesome idea!! We decided reading on Sunday would be best for everyone's schedules. It was so nice to see and hear Grandma and take turns reading from the scriptures. So now we get to read with Grandma Marilynn and Pres every week! What a wonderful experience! I love technology.
Natalee made my Saturday such a wonderful day. I spent all afternoon into the evening baking and cooking with Natalee. We made lots of banana bread. Seriously, the best banana bread ever! Super moist and so yummy.
This one we gave as a little thank you to some friends for letting us borrow thier lawn mower, again.

Our lawn mower is now yard decoration in the back yard until we can get all the problems fixed. Jordan calls lawn mowers "mow lawns." It cracks us up!
When we finished with all the bread, we made pancakes and bacon for dinner. We made LOTS of bacon. You should have seen our kids faces when I put a handful of bacon on each of thier plates instead of the usual two pieces. :)
One night after family prayer Aryn wanted to show us a game. It was a hand clapping poem game. We had the best time laughing and playing. Even Aryn was laughing and having a good time. So, the next night we played again, and again the next night. Then one night Jordan wanted to play Duck, Duck, Goose. We had so much fun playing together. The next night we played Slappy Slap (as we call it) and Duck, Duck, Goose. And again the next night. Now it has become a part of our bedtime routine. John and I both have carpet burns from serious Duck, Duck, Goose games throughout the week. Our bedtime routine is now like an hour long, but it adds more famly fun to bedtime and we get less complaints from the kids about going to bed. Watching our children and my husband smile and laugh and enjoy being together at the end of every day makes my heart full. I love our family!
Thanks for stopping by. We hope you are having a great week!
