I'm so excited that it is finally feeling like fall here in Alabama. I love so much about fall. The turning leaves, the cooler weather, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and all of the yummy foods we enjoy during this time of year. Like fresh apple cider, warm pumpkin pie and my favorite, chili. Not just any chili, but Ward Chapman's chili! You can't beat a hot bowl of his chili topped with cheese, scooping up each bite with tortilla chips. I recently made an 8x8 inch page with his chili recipe for a book of the recipes I use most often. (Three recipes are Ward's.) My favorite side, other than tortilla chips, is cornbread casserole.
INGREDIENTS
1/4 pound butter, melted
1 (15 ounce) can whole kernel corn
1 (15 ounce) can creamed corn
1 (8.5 ounce) package corn bread mix
1 ounce sour cream
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a mixing bowl, combine butter, whole corn, cream corn, corn muffin mix and sour cream. Fold all ingredients together, pour into 2 quart casserole dish. Bake for 1 hour. (Mine needed longer than an hour.)

i'm with you. i love this time of year best. there is always something to look forward to.
Yep.. definitely my favorite time of the year, too!
So I tried the recipes! The Chili was GREAT! The cornbread however failed. After cooking it 1hr and 45 min and it still wasn't cooked through I gave up and put it in the garbage! Thanks for sharing the recipies though. :)
You have my dad to thank for the chili recipe, as well as the spaghetti. He invented these recipies when it was just him, my brother and me, during what I cal our bachelor days. Nice blog by the way.
