Pinewood Derby Decorations

We combined our 8-12 age girls and boys for our cub scouts pinewood derby/blue and gold. So the girls got the assignment of decorating. The theme turned out to be "Life is a Highway," cute for a pinewood derby! So I knew they were wanting to use road signs to decorate the gym. I have a cartridge for my Cricut diecutting machine that cuts roadsigns so I offered to help. Before I knew it I was conducting and giving a short talk! That's what I get for being the Primary President, lol. no, really, it was fun to help decorate. Plus, both of our girls are in the Activity Days so I would have been there anyway. We had a good turn out and it was lots of fun. Aryn's car won first place overall!
So here a few pics...
Sis. Mayfield used white first aid tape and stuck strips down the middle of the "road" and placed cars around on the tables...

I didn't get a pic of my traffic light. I used it with my talk. I didn't actually write anything out but I shared my thoughts based on this sharing time idea I found in an old Friend...
Hold up the traffic light and read the scripture. When we are baptized, we open the gate to the path back to Heavenly Father. We must be baptized to go to the temple and to enter the celestial kingdom. After baptism we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, which will help us choose the right. My Gospel Standards are like road signs on our path. In making choices we can (point to red circle) stop and remember Heavenly Father’s plan for us, (yellow circle) slow down and remember our baptismal covenants, and (green circle) go and listen to the Holy Ghost.
It went perfectly with our theme!
