Gavin is in first grade this year. He was excited yesterday to start but last night as he was giving out bedtime hugs, he asked when the next day off from school will be. I laughed pretty hard at that one.
Natalee is in the fourth grade and is excited to have a locker this year. The lockers are in the class room but, still, it's pretty cool! She is in ACE (academic creative enrichment - classes for gifted kids) again this year, which is really fun for her. She gets to participate in things like dissecting a frog...making claymation movies...working on a school paper.
Aryn started middle school...I can NOT believe it! I dropped her off yesterday at the door. I didn't expect it, but as I pulled away tears filled my eyes. My baby is growing up!! She's in all advanced classes this year and in band but hasn't decided which instrument yet, but we are all looking forward to her concerts already. She had a great first day. She talked all evening long, telling us all about it. We were happy to hear she enjoyed it so much. She tends to freak out a bit with change so we were worried but she handled it just fine.
On the upside to our change in schedule, it has been very calm and quiet during the day for me. Jordan has no one to fight with and she takes a nap around noon so my days just got easier. When I clean the house it stays clean...at least until around 3pm anyway.
Well, I'm off to go enjoy the quiet...

It's fun to see your kids and hear about y'all. I cannot believe how fast they grow and change. Good luck with everything. By the way, I would love to hear from you :)

I can't beleive our babies are in middle school either and to top that one, Forrest is in high school! I did leak a tear or two on the drive home and then the tears turned to joy that I have the whole house to myself! YEHAW!
All your kids are getting so big. Aryn looked so cute on her first day of middle school. I'm so happy she liked it. I'm sure you are loving the quiet at home. Maybe we can get to some scrappin' soon!
