Let's see, what I can remember from 2 weeks ago...
So, I was able to have a very boring week. No extra obligations, doctor appointments, or meetings...boring. It was nice.
We were finally able to go to the pool after 3 weeks of not being able to go. It was a wonderful break after all the busyness we've had around here.
The baby birds are getting big. I finally got brave enough to face the protective mama bird and went out to check on them. As soon as I got to the second level of the playhouse a bird started fluttering around. I hit the deck scared the mama was going to peck me or something. When I wasn't attacked by a bird, I mustered the courage to turn and look, and discovered a young bird perched on the edge of the railing.

Last week we had a load of laundry that never made it to the dryer. I started a load and forgot about it. John found it the next day and rewashed the load. I found it the next day and rewashed the load. Then Sunday morning I was looking for a shirt for Jordan and found the load still mostly wet in the washer. John and I laughed so hard. Though, it wasn't funny when the dryer stopped drying this week. It really stressed me out. We went a few days without a dryer, but my awesome husband was able to put a new heating element in on Saturday and it works even better than before!!
With all the activities over the last few weeks my schedule is all out of whack. I've fallen into a routine of staying up too late. I found this on pinterest.com.

It is SO me! I've actually had this conversation with my husband...multiple times.
Speaking of pinterest.com, have you checked it out? I LOVE it. It's like I have a cork board on the Internet to save all the great ideas I find. I go on there and scroll and re-pin and scroll and re-pin and scroll through so many great pictures and links and ideas. And not only do I find great ideas, but I share them with friends who follow me on pinterest.com and they share the ideas they find with me. It's awesome!
I decided to check it out because I am planning a whole new layout for the little blue room (my craft room/homeschool room) and I wanted some inspiration. When we moved into our home my craft room was perfect for a craft room but about five months later we started homeschooling all of our children and using the craft room as the school room made sense. I had to clear out a few shelves to make room for school supplies and books and make-do with the space the way it was already organized. Now that we are certain we will be continuing to homeschool we need to make the space more useful for both crafting and schooling. I love to decorate and organize so I am super excited. Plus, we are going to take out the carpet and put in laminate wood floors. Yay! I've pulled out the graph paper, measured everything, and I've started sketching a new layout with more shelving for school stuff and more desk space for crafting. Here's a few ideas for inspiration I've found on pinterest.com.

In my search I discovered the workbox system. I think there is a book you can buy from the lady who came up with the system idea, but I get the idea behind it by just reading other homeschooling mama blogs. I can't wait to use a version of the workbox system in our homeschool this year. More on the workbox system and how we will use it once school starts.
Sadly, we've decided to remove Duck, Duck, Goose from our nightly bedtime routine. We really enjoy playing but it's just too dangerous. Hahaha.
This is Aryn's knee. Scroll fast if you don't want to see the nasty knee injury.

She had a huge carpet burn from a game of Duck, Duck, Goose we played earlier in the week. She goosed Dad and he butted her out of the spot with his hip and she flew across the room. I've told you, we are serious about Duck, Duck, Goose around here. Well, she landed on her hurt knee and she got another deeper carpet burn on top of the one she already had. It was pretty gross when she found the scab on the inside of her pants leg.
My sister Kimberly had her baby girl! Here she going home dressed in the TN dress I made for her. She is so adorable!

Saturday was the first soccer practice. Jordan and Gavin could hardly sleep the night before because of all the excitement. When Jordan got to practice she wouldn't go out on the field she was too shy and nervous. We noticed a friend of her's from church was out there practicing, but Jordan wouldn't be persuaded. Finally, when practice was more than half over she was brave enough to go out and play.

She was so cute out there playing. We were worried she would just hang back and watch the other girls kick the ball around, but she made her way through the group and kicked the ball once or twice. Here she is during a water break.

Luckily, Jordan's practice ended early because Gavin's practice started the same time Jordan's was supposed to end. Because we were early I was able to take a few good photos of Gavin kicking around the ball.

Did you catch that he is sticking out his tongue in serious concentration? I think it's so cute. Hahaha.

After a six hour break we headed back to the field for Natalee's practice. She was a little hesitant at first this being her first time ever to play a sport, but by the end she was hustling and trying to take the ball from the other team and get in the way of the ball and the goal.
We think soccer is going to be a fun experience for our kids. I'm officially a soccer mom. Hahaha.
