I started my newly spring cleaned schedule this week, but first, we did some real spring cleaning. We even rearranged the kids bedrooms. It felt fantastic! We talked about decorating ideas. We hope to finish decorating the kids bedrooms this summer. John lost his job a few weeks after we bought the house so, the decorating was put on hold for a while. I sketched out a few ideas and hope to get the supplies soon. I remember redecorating our bedrooms all the time growing up. My mom was the first to teach me how to refinish furniture and sew pillow covers and curtains.
We cleaned and organized the playroom, as well. I grabbed the camera and snapped some pictures before it was a mess again.

I have to say, as a list lover, I appreciate the calendar app on the iPhone. I have programmed my day into the calendar with alerts. When the alarm goes off I get a reminder of what needs to get done next. I put in when to start the laundry, clean the bathroom, start school, go to Story Time at the library, start dinner, even when to blog, everything. It keeps me on track. It is exactly what I need right now.
It was back to school this week. I was worried that after the long spring break it would be a difficult week, but it was great. We got right back on our school shedule with no problems or attitudes. :)

Those huge pencils the kids found in their stockings this Christmas make school work just a little more fun. Aryn and Natalee weren't "prettied-up" so I had to promise to focus on the pencil and not their faces. Hahaha.
I laughed hard at this quote I found on someone's blog and I just had to share it.

With Easter coming up I wanted to do something special to teach our children about our Savior's ressurection. So, I started planning a Family Home Evening lesson. Then, it hit me that I have a special opportunity as a homeschooled family with more time to teach our children about our Savior this week. I took some time to plan an entire school week focused on the last week of our Savior's life. I used many different sources- the scriptures, Gospel Art Kit, lesson manuals, church magazines, and the movies and workbooks from The Living Scriptures. Here's a free lesson you can print and use from Living Scriptures{click here} Technically, we started today with Palm Sunday. I'm really looking forward to school this week!
I told you this week wasn't very exciting. Just another week in the Ricks' home, but it was a good one. Thanks for stopping in to check on us. We hope you have a wonderful week and a happy Easter weekend.
