I Felt Like a Teenager Again...

So we had SO much fun going to the midnight showing of Twilight! The theater was packed full of teenage girls with a few of us old ladies and even fewer guys squeezed in. When the movie started the girls surrounding us screamed and clapped. So we clapped, too. Jacob appears on screen, "It's Jacob! Oh, my gosh, he is SO cute!" comes from all directions. Instead of letting all the screaming and swooning ruin it for us we decided to join in. Who would notice 3 old ladies screaming in the midst of all the teenagers? We felt like teenage girls again screaming along as Emmit, Jasper, and finally Edward appear on the big screen. We even swooned for Carlise...though I thought he was a little too pasty. The vampires were beautiful!
I was surprised when I did like Robert Pattinson as Edward. He looked way better in the movie than he did in any of the advertisement pictures. Yes, I melted along with the other teenage girls during all of the romantic scenes. I loved the first scene in biology. I laughed so hard, but he did a good job. I thought the glittering skin of a vampire in the sun looked great. I was worried it would be super cheesy. I enjoyed the catching the dropped apple trick and how it looked like the picture on the cover of the book.
I was disappointed that they didn't follow the beach scene with Jacob and the story of the cold ones more to the book. I felt they didn't build the relationship with Bella and Jacob as well as they should.
The guy playing Eric totally caught me off guard but it wasn't a big point. I thought Alice and Victoria were perfectly cast. I thought they made the high school kids a little too high schooly but, hey, it is a teenager movie. I was glad they kept the make-out scene to a minimum. I thought the fight scene with James was great. I like how they ended with Vitoria watching them.
The theater was full of raging girl hormones and it was so late and I was tired...I'm not sure if I love the movie or if it was just the euphoria. So I plan to go again Tuesday evening with my girls and hopefully the screaming will be down to a minimum and I will be able to really watch it.

I'd love to hear what you thought of it!
Here's a pretty good picture of "Edward"...enjoy! (LOL)

Rachel... I saw it this morning!!! They have to be careful or we're all going to go home and complain that our husbands aren't "Edward" enough! hahaha! I LOVED the movie! It's been FOREVER since I read the book so I had some time to forget the little details which was nice. The girls next to me were complaining because they Cullens house didn't look the same! I laughed so hard! I thought the movie was AWESOME!!! And I have a married crush on Edward! And Jacob has potential to be quite "studly" if I may say so! haha! But I do agree with most of your points... Except I thought Carlisle was a BABE!!!! WOO!!! But that's all for me! Although, I read that over 10,000 men read for the part of Edward and out of all of them they picked Robert Pattinson so I'm going to believe they couldn't have done better. No real human could pull him off but I LOVED the whole cast! Anyway, there's my tangent for you!

I enjoyed the movie, once I stopped picking it apart for not being just like the book! :)

Our theater was packed with teenage girls as well, who screamed and clapped and cheered. We got a kick out of seeing all of the "Team Edward" and "Team Jacob" t-shirts. One shirt that I really loved said "Team Edward" on the front, and on the back it said, "Because Jacob doesn't dazzle me". HA!

It was a lot of book to pack into a 2 hour movie, and overall I thought they did a good job. I may have to go see it again as well.

I enjoyed it too. I did think all the screaming girls was a little bit too silly. They even had a Prom pre-party, so there were girls dressed up for the prom, but only a handful of guys there. It doesn't sound like a fun prom to me. LOL I'm with Krystle regarding Carlisle, he was HOT! Although, I think that Edward is more my type of guy. Before I saw the movie, I didn't think they had cast Edward very well, but now I am happy with their choice. I did not like Kristen Stewart as Bella. She was just too bland for me and I don't think she did a god job in tis.

I thought it was fantastic! I screamed when Edward finnaly came on the screen and George leaned over me and told me to stop! How dare him ruin my scream for Edward! Everything about the movie I loved. I read on Stephanie Meyer's blog today about the annoucement of making the second movie. Looks like a series of movies has been born!

well, I probably won't see the movie right away, but I'm excited about all the publicity it's getting. I'm finally reading #4, Breaking Dawn and thoughly enjoying it. I should finish today.
It's fun to share this story with three generations! See girls, even Grandma likes the books!

i just read this post and giggled with your comments because I was the same way! i saw it a few days after it came out(much to my dismay!) but I was sooooo excited with the vampires entered the lunchroom...just thinking about it makes me excited!! too funny! I saw it 2x and had the tickets to see it with TJ over Thanksgiving but we didn't make it. My friend here just finished the book and I am excited to see it with her for the 3rd time....if we can get a showing that will work for us! We better hurry or it will be gone!!

I love that pic of Edward....the casting of him is exactly how I pictured him as I was reading the book!

ok...ch-lax for now...gotta stop talking about it so I can get on with my day:)
